What Time Do Premier League Matches Start in Malaysia?

If you follow the Premier League from Malaysia, most matches will start sometime between evening and the early hours of the following morning.

A Saturday 3:00 PM match in England, for example, kicks off at 10:00 PM in Malaysia during British Summer Time (BST) and 11:00 PM when the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

The slightly confusing part is that Malaysia does not change its clocks, while the UK does. That means the Malaysia kick-off time for the same UK time slot can shift by one hour during the season.

What Are the Usual Premier League Match Times in Malaysia?

Premier League matches are played across several regular UK kick-off slots.

For viewers in Malaysia, these are the approximate times to remember:

The Premier League’s initial fixture schedule normally places weekend and Bank Holiday matches at 3:00 PM UK time unless otherwise stated, while midweek matches are generally scheduled around 8:00 PM.

For Malaysian fans, that basically means there are three types of Premier League nights:

• Comfortable viewing: Around 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM
• Still manageable: Around midnight to 1:30 AM
• You really have to love your club: Around 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM

Unfortunately, supporting an English football club occasionally comes with sleep deprivation.

What Time Are Saturday Premier League Matches in Malaysia?

Saturday is traditionally the busiest Premier League day.

Saturday 12:30 PM UK Kick-Off

These are the early matches in England. For Malaysians, they are conveniently timed at approximately:

• 7:30 PM during BST
• 8:30 PM during GMT

This is arguably the best Premier League slot for Malaysian viewers. You can finish dinner, sit down and watch football without sacrificing your sleep.

Saturday 3:00 PM UK Kick-Off

The classic English football kick-off time is 3:00 PM on Saturday.

In Malaysia, that becomes:

• 10:00 PM during BST
• 11:00 PM during GMT

These are also fairly comfortable times for Malaysian fans on weekends. Multiple matches can kick off simultaneously in this slot.

Saturday 5:30 PM UK Kick-Off

The later Saturday fixture is where things start getting rougher.

It normally begins at:

• 12:30 AM during BST
• 1:30 AM during GMT

Remember that the date will technically have changed to Sunday in Malaysia by this point.

If a fixture listing says “Saturday 5:30 PM UK”, Malaysian viewers should therefore look for the game early on Sunday morning.

What Time Are Friday and Monday Premier League Matches in Malaysia?

Premier League games can also be scheduled on Friday and Monday evenings in the UK.

An 8:00 PM UK kick-off translates to approximately:

• 3:00 AM Malaysia time during BST
• 4:00 AM Malaysia time during GMT

These are easily among the least friendly times for Malaysian viewers.

Where Can You Watch the Premier League in Malaysia?

As of the 2026/27 season, Astro carries Premier League coverage in Malaysia and says customers can watch all 380 matches live throughout the season.

Premier League programming is available across Astro’s dedicated Premier League channels and Astro GO.

Broadcast rights can change between rights cycles, however, so this is one part of the guide worth checking again in future seasons.

If you are mainly trying to work out when to tune in, the UK-to-Malaysia conversion table above remains the easiest reference.

What Are the Best Premier League Kick-Off Times for Malaysian Fans?

If maintaining a vaguely normal sleep schedule is important, the 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM UK slots are the ones to hope for.

For Malaysian viewers, they normally fall somewhere between 7:30 PM and 11:00 PM.

Here is our unofficial Malaysian ranking:

Of course, if it is your club playing, “3:00 AM on a workday” has never stopped football fans before.
